St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Leaskdale, Ontario was built in 1906. The people of Leaskdale had organized St Paul's parish in 1862. Two years later, they built a frame church on a piece of land donated by George Leask. Because of the small size of Leaskdale and Chalmers in Uxbridge, they became one charge and remained together until 1880.
The Rev. Montgomery served as minister from 1911 to 1926. Along with him, he brought his wife L.M. Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables. In this picturesque hamlet she wrote half of her 22 novels.
